My research explores the intersection between intellectual property (IP) and product design. It builds on more than a decade of experience in patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation. I’m fascinated by the untold stories behind the products and systems we use every day. Outside of school, I enjoy sailing, making music, playing with LEGOs®, building play forts, and sitting around campfires with my wife and our children. I hope someday to be as imaginative, playful, curious, confident, helpful, and kind as they are. I enjoy connecting with colleagues from diverse fields, and welcome opportunities to collaborate in research and teaching.
