Grace Burleson Receives Two Awards for Graduate Education at CU

In 2025, Dr. Burleson received both the university’s Exceptional Graduate Mentor Award and the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering’s Graduate Education Award. These recognitions acknowledged her role and leadership in supporting the department’s efforts to update the PhD preliminary examination process, add “design” as a codified doctoral focus area in Mechanical Engineering, and implement a new course on Design Research Theory and Methodology.
