Hi there! My name is Sophie, and I am a Mechanical Engineering PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder. My research interests lie at the intersection of engineering processes and energy technologies - primarily the way in which we quantify and consider the impacts of these technologies. After spending a few years working in industry, I am excited to return to academia and dive deep into interdisciplinary research as a member of the Burleson Global Design Group.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending as much time in nature as possible, trail-running, cycling, reading, drinking coffee, and spending time with family. Both of my parents are teachers, so I feel extremely excited (and maybe destined) to have the opportunity to teach, mentor, and be mentored in the upcoming years.
Education:
B.A. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College, Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College
