Students Conduct Workshop at UM’s Design Justice Symposium
On September 25, our team led a workshop titled “Practicing Perspective-Taking: Going Beyond Having Empathy in Engineering Design” at the Design Justice Symposium hosted at the University of Minnesota.
The workshop invited participants to explore how engineers can move beyond surface-level empathy to actively integrate stakeholder perspectives throughout the design process. Through hands-on activities and guided discussion, attendees reflected on the challenges and opportunities of practicing perspective-taking in their own work.
We’re proud of our students, Meghan Eliza Stancliff and Julianne Attai, for their excellent facilitation and thoughtful engagement with participants. Many thanks to the symposium organizers and sponsors for creating such a meaningful space for dialogue about justice, inclusion, and design.
